We maintain a database of 2000+ mental health startups and our insights have been featured in Nature, Entrepreneur, Insider, Axios, Behavioral Health Business, Psychiatric Times, and many more.
To kick off the year I thought I’d highlight some notable investors making a real difference in the space! I will be sending out a list of selected startups for our next issue.
Investors
Two Bridge Capital - I am a senior associate at Two Bridge Capital. We are a team that is truly passionate about solving the mental health crisis. Two Bridge seeks to invest in the growth stage of cutting-edge disruptive and affordable healthcare innovation and mental health companies looking to improve healthcare outcomes and patient lives.
Grey Matter Capital- GreyMatter focuses on increasing access to care, and improving the quality of the mental health system by surrounding the most mission driven founders, from diverse backgrounds with the right clinical, regulatory, policy, commercial and operational expertise to build scaled companies. They have invested in 15 companies out of Fund I, and the founders Danish Munir & Andrew Barr have invested in over 30+ mental health companies over their careers. Danish is a friend and one of the most knowledgeable people in the behavioral health innovation space.
PsyMed Ventures - Led by Greg Kubin, PsyMed Ventures is an early stage fund investing in frontier mental health technologies. Investment areas include psychedelic medicine, neurotech, precision psychiatry, and digital therapeutics all towards advancing the treatment of mental health. The general partners also co-host Business Trip, a podcast exploring the future of mental health and wellness.
Awareness Capital - Awareness Capital is led by investing legends, Gwill York (founder of Lighthouse Capital which grew to $1.5B+ in AUM) and Charlie Finnie (former GP at Crosslink Capital, Managing Partner of EFW Partners). Awareness invests in market-leading innovation companies in the brain health sector. The company seeks breakthrough advances in the field, and is building a portfolio of leading brain health companies that aim to bring powerful benefits to patients within the next five years.
One Mind Accelerator - The One Mind Accelerator seeks to address the global mental health crisis at scale and with a sense of urgency through the power of entrepreneurship. I’m an advisor/mentor to the accelerator. Carmine DiMaro, a friend and the Director of the One Mind Accelerator, has built an incredible program and unparalleled community of folks passionate about mental health innovation. I’ve heard so many positive reviews from founders who have been through the accelerator.
